Abstract
The United States foreign policy is explained based on different approaches. Each theorist tries to explain American foreign policy in the post-Cold War era based on their theoretical frameworks and thoughts. The assumption of this article refers to the fact that many countries operate as main and independent actors and take the role of leading their political activities. In contrast, the central axis of the behavior of each actor, especially immense powers like the United States, is based on related variables. The United States is an international power. On the one hand, it is the central pole of the past international system and its next system, and on the other hand, it is a power that has been affected by the structural changes in the global system. This view may contain far-fetched theory, but as Waltz says, the structure of the international system is not formed without the will of the great powers; therefore, in an anarchic system, the great powers are seeking to secure their security and interests, and perhaps it is clear that they are not seeking the formation of a specific structure. The main question of the article is, "Why and what are the characteristics of American foreign policy behavior after the Cold War"? The hypothesis of the paper expresses the fact that "the US foreign policy is based on signs of American nationalism and liberal globalist illusion." This essay uses Mearsheimer's structuralist approach, and the method of organizing the article is data analysis.
