Analyzing the Concept of Armed Attack in Exercising the Right to Self-defense in the Framework of the Resolution Defining Aggression

Abstract
The 21st century began with the September 11 attacks. This stormy beginning marked the beginning of many developments in various fields. Among other things, it affected the concept of the right to self-defense and its derivatives, and preemptive and preventive readings were put forward. These readings and the Security Council's approach to its resolutions have remained a matter of dispute to this day, and there has been no consensus on their legitimacy or illegitimacy. Of course, some readings, despite their conflict with established international law, have gradually achieved relative acceptance in the process of establishing and institutionalizing their procedures, but some readings have still not found an acceptable place in the procedures of states. Based on this important and influential event, the present study examines its impact on the text of the Charter, especially Article 51. Article 51, which governs the right of individual and collective self-defense of states. This study examines one of the prerequisites of the right to self-defense, namely armed attack, in light of Resolution 3314, or the resolution defining aggression. Given the widespread use of broad interpretations of the right to self-defense, emphasizing the specifics of the resolution defining aggression regarding the framing of armed attack and the criteria based on it can limit extra-legal actions and illegal recourse by countries regarding the right to self-defense. In the present study, library methods were used to collect information and data. The specific library methods used in this study include text reading and note-taking, document reading, and the use of documents. Qualitative analysis was also used for analysis
