Abstract
Everyone acknowledges the fact that the US-China relationship is the most sensitive and special type of relationship in the world today, due to the extremely high impact of the results of their actions and interactions. This article, using the descriptive research method and using the opinions and views of prominent experts on Beijing-Washington relations, examines, analyzes, and explains the inevitability of strategic interaction between China and the United States as two superior and influential global powers in the past few decades, especially after 1989 (after the Tiananmen Square incident). The authors' hypothesis in this study is that the relations between Beijing and Washington have multiple strategic, military, political, economic, etc. dimensions, with the main emphasis here being on strategic interactions and their implications. For this purpose, the authors, focusing on the theory of the balance of power, examine and analyze the motivations of strategic interactions between China and the United States, the common motivations of each of them, and also analyze the factors affecting the strategic interaction of the parties, including the balance between the military and political forces of the two countries, bilateral diplomatic interactions, bilateral military relations, etc., citing objective and historical examples, including military, political, and other agreements and contracts, and conclude that these two countries, given their common military, political, and economic capabilities, are inevitably bound to engage in strategic interaction with each other as the best and least costly option within the domestic, regional, and international system environments
